Vacheron Constantin has added the Patrimony with small seconds to its Platine collection
An elegant 42mm Patrimony becomes the newest addition to the Collection Excellence Platine, the collection reserved for the limited series of Vacheron Constantin watches in 950 platinum.
Since 2006, the brand has added several watches to its prestigious Collection Excellence Platine, including various Patrimony models.
We’ve seen the Patrimony Perpetual Calendar and the Patrimony Traditonnelle World Time, but the newest addition to the collection is far simpler.
The Patrimony Collection Excellence Platine’s minimalist dial features a small seconds subdial along with a “pearl” minute track – Vacheron Constantin’s signature minute track made up of small convex dots.
Whilst brands, including Vacheron Constantin, have been responding to the market demand for steel watches, this is a well-executed dress watch at the other end of the scale.
The model already exists in white and pink gold, but the texture of this dial is another signature of the Collection Excellence Platine; the sandblasted platinum has a velvety finish.

Other signatures include a tiny “Pt950” logo placed between 4 and 5 o’clock, and the 18ct white gold hands and hour-markers.
Limited to 150 pieces, the Patrimony Collection Excellence Platine is held on a blue alligator strap, complete with platinum stitching and platinum Maltese cross buckle.
Visible through the sapphire glass caseback is the manual-winding calibre 4400 AS with a 65-hour power reserve. First shown in 2009, it’s been used in the Patrimony collection before, for example in the Patrimony Traditionnelle Small Seconds.
